Biography.
Guitarist and singer/songwriter Bode Corona was born and raised on Cape Cod, MA. Coming from non-musical roots, he has made his way through his life discovering music for himself. He grew up with car rides hearing songs from Bruce Springsteen to yacht rock artists and more. The early artists that flooded his ears sparked inspiration as Bode got older. He still finds heavy inspiration from one of his idols, Bruce Springsteen and has discovered even more prominent influences like Dave Matthews, who has played a major role in shaping his life and sound.
Sociocultural music plays an important role in Bode's life. He recognizes issues at hand and is moved by music that appropriately and uniquely highlights them. He is moved by music with intricate melodies and music that evoke feelings and dancing. Music means expression and freedom to Bode. It serves as a vessel to process complex feelings and change lives. He plays music because it offers a sense of belonging, joy, and escape
Bode's original music brings his personality and vulnerabilities to the table. He plays in an indie/folk style acousticly that feels familiar yet different.
Picking up a guitar in 2018, Bode began lessons with Steve Gregory of Score Music. He realized it wasn't something that came easily. The struggle made him forget about the guitar for a while as it became a decoration of the room. Later as he got a little older, he started to finally gain some inspiration to play. He began to really enjoy playing once he discovered the Dave Matthews Band and also began to dive in to the 90's grunge scene. Learning those songs took work but stretched him to keep going on both acoustic and electric.
Bode expanded and grew as a musician while at Sturgis Public Charter School, where he still attends and studies music through the International Baccalaureate program under Natalie Sheeler. He takes part in the Jazz Band under direction of Bart Weisman and has been a member of other bands both in and out of school. He continues learn from Steve Gregory and mentors under Kim Moberg.
