Our first day off!

Kat and I decided to head into Haugesund today! We hopped on the bus and made our way into the city to explore.

Hauges

und is a relatively relaxed city and a major tourist attraction as a stop for passing cruises (for example, the main commercial street had 5 of the same Norway sovenuir shops). I didn't learn too much while in the city today but I do know it has rich Viking history.

We walked around, perusing shops and boutiques and then made our way towards the Hearaldshagen monument on the coast.

What I really enjoyed was walking the Kyststein (coastal walk). The views were spectacular and quite magical. Lots of sheepys just casually hanging around minding their own business.

I really enjoyed the Rising Tide monument. The plaque read as such:

"The Rising Tide by Jaron deCaires Tayior parallels horse heads with crude oil pumps, symbolizing the shift from natural to fossil fuel power. The sculptures contrast the grace of horses with the destructive impact of fossil fuels, urging environmental resrtraint. While two riders represent greed and a bleak future, the younger riders offer hope for ecological awareness: Originally displayed in London, the sculptares were relocated to Haugesund in 2021."

I went down to the rocks and tried to fetch a bucket that was left in the water and my right leg slipped in (pictured bottom right).

After this we headed back to the farm for a night I'm sure I won't forget. I'll write about this in the next part.

Thanks for reading, love and miss y'all
